Lunch: Every Wednesday 12:00 PM, Reservations Required

Senior Luncheons: This is a chance for those 60 and up to get together with other seniors for a delicious luncheon with friendly people. The meals are nutritionally balanced, catered by Alpine Country Coffee Shop, and the only fee is a suggested donation cost of $2.00. No one will be turned away due to failure to contribute. “Funding for this service has been provided by the San Bernardino County Department of Aging and Adult Services through a grant award from the California Department of Aging”. Senior Adventures
This is a travel group that explores Southern California. Possible trips include Seaport Village in San Diego, Knott’s Berry Farm, Julian, San Jaun Capistrano, and Palm Springs.

AARP/Park District County Food Bank for Low Income Families: 4th Monday of every month 12:00 PM

AARP Income Tax Preparation Counseling: February, March, April

Arts and Crafts Tuesdays
The class varies month to month with two different activities weekly. Class activities include container gardening (herbs, flowers and succulents each have their own weeks), jewelry making, home decor, artificial flower arrangemetns, and much more

Bingo
Time: Every Thursday 12:00-4:00 PM

Dancing
This activity is the very popular country music dance craze Line Dancing. Beginner and experienced dancers are both welcome, with the most current dances being taught. Pull on your boots, slip on your hat and come in and join the dance (hats and boots not required)

Dominoes
This activity is the very popular, but easy to learn Mexican Train Dominoes. This is a warm, friendly group who welcome both the novice as well as the experienced player. Laughs about with this group, so come on and join in on the fun.

Hooks and Needles
This is a quilting-bee style get-together where people bring their own project in. This is a friendly group who welcomes the new members. Projects include quilting, crocheting, and knitting. Group members share patterns, help, and advice while chatting about a variety of topics.

The Big Bear Valley Senior Center is located at 42651 Big Bear Blvd,, between Stanfield Cutoff and Division, and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Center offers a multitude of programs, activities and services for seniors 55 and above.

Senior Citizens Of Big Bear Valley (SCOBBV) general membership meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 1:00 PM.

The Senior Citizens of Big Bear Valley advises the Park District on the needs of the Valley’s Senior Citizens.

Annual membership dues are $5.00 per person and entitles the member to many enjoyable activities.

There are cooking classes, BINGO, Bridge and Poker games, lunches and Saturday Socials, Ceramics for Seniors, Painting, Tole Painting, Quilting, and even newly released DVD movie matinees. The Top of the Hill Gang is the SCOBBV travel club with trips including Laughlin, Branson, San Manuel, the Queen Mary, and many, many more.
